Perhaps you’ve heard of reflexology or had a session yourself before but have you ever considered it for your children?
Reflexology is a very relaxing therapy and just like adults, kids usually enjoy having a short reflexology session.
Many kids will find it interesting to try something new and very quickly become relaxed - it’s heart warming to watch the change in their body language so quickly!
How can reflexology help my child?
This therapy works on all the systems of the body and can be useful to help improve symptoms like skin problems, allergies, recurring ear aches or colds. It is also great for soothing the emotions and calming the mental state. This means it can help reduce anxiety, restlessness, shyness or worry.
If a very active child finds it hard to settle down for “quiet time” or sleep, the deep relaxation that reflexology brings can really help.
What should I expect during a session?
Reflexology for a child is a shorter and more gentle session, of around 20 to 30 minutes. It can be done on the face, hands or feet or even a combination. I have found with past experience that working on the face is particularly soothing for mental/emotional issues. The session would be adapted to suit the needs and wishes of the individual child and their parent.
The parent remains with the child throughout the session and all questions and comments are welcomed.
Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss any of the above in more detail.
Warm wishes
